Pantone Names 2015 Color of the Year
Wine is more than one of America's most popular beverages. This year the deep-red wine color Marsala is Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year. Blue and brown undertones bring added richness to this sure-to-be color winner.
Pantone Names 2014 Color of the Year
Move over emerald green, and make room for Radiant Orchid. The Pantone Color Institute, fashion and housewares trendspotters, have named "an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple, and pink undertones" as 2014's hot new fashion color, and it is already popping up in houseware products.

Learn How To Bake Like the "Cake Boss" at Michaels This Weekend
On Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m to 12 noon, discover your passion for baking by playing "Cake Roulette" at any Michaels craft store during a free event celebrating this season's launch of Cake Boss(TM) baking products. Available now at Michaels U.S. stores, the new Cake Boss Cakeware line is offered by Meyer Corporation in partnership with Discovery Communications.
Shoppers visiting Michaels during this nationwide event will be invited to spin a colorful "Cake Roulette" wheel to explore their reasons for baking and learn what it takes to bake like "The Boss." The giant wheel features images of Buddy Valastro, star of the hit TLC series, Cake Boss, as well as pictures of select Cake Boss baking and decorating tools.
All "Cake Roulette" players will receive a complimentary recipe card associated with the Cake Boss product featured in their spin. There will also be winning 'spins' where players will take home select Cake Boss products. Calphalon has announced the launch of Simply Calphalon Ceramic Nonstick cookware. The new hard-anodized collection, which features ceramic non-stick cooking surfaces made without PFOA or PTFE, is rolling out exclusively at Bed Bath & Beyond stores and website.
Frigidaire Intros Small Electrics At Target
Frigidaire has entered the small kitchen appliance market with a 5-in-1 Grill and Griddle, an Infrared Convection Oven, a 5-Speed Blender, and a Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker, exclusive to Target. All of the appliances are designed with simple controls, time-saving features, and are made of stainless steel. Prices range from $100 to $150.

It’s not easy to find kitchenware that can carry a “Made in America” moniker. Happily, we see more and more coming to market. PRODUCT RECALL: iSi Twist 'n Sparkle Carbonation Sets
iSi North America, makers of the Twist 'n Sparkle Carbonation System, in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, is recalling several models of their carbonations sets after reports of nine recent incidents in which the plastic bottle burst during normal use. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the design of the bottle structure itself may compromise the integrity of the product.
The recall includes Twist 'n Sparkle Start Set (models 1005, 1005-12, 1005-BJ, 1005-QVC) and the Twist 'n Sparkle Bottle Set (models 1006-00 and 1006-12).
